®️ Let's put our minds through a time machine and go 30 years back. Way back before our existence. But you are finding yourself in a very familiar environment. The music is louder than your thoughts. All your mates are sweaty just like you, but no one is stopping. Your eyes are already so used to being in this dark, old, abandoned building. You are not sure if it's Sunday or Monday, but who's keeping the track?
I'm 53, so that crazy older hairdresser was me and I agree with your sentiment wholeheartedly. I'm amazed at the number of the folks I meet in day to day life who don't harness the power of the internet to continually enhance their musical horizons or simply use it to "follow along". That said, it's ALWAYS been like this. There have always been people content to be led or stick with what they know. This is a human condition, but it's made all the more incomprehensible by today's limitless access to new music.
(See? Not only am I old, I am also cranky.)
