With this week's post I want to follow up my previous post. ๐
Blasting music on my headphones as I was walking towards my flat a few days ago, this one particular track inspired me, I guess.ย
My thoughts were running around like crazy. Are we entering a whole new era -
POP Techno?
You know how I mentioned that techno needed to become more likable to the masses? And what is more likable than Madonna's, Britney's 90s through 2000s hits playing in every car across the world? Not much, right?
Keep in mind that we are referring to the masses here, not you, my reader!
๐ Now go up again and listen to attached sound sample.๐
How does it sound?ย Resemble Ariana Grande's, Katy Perry's or Dua Lipa's new single that is being played on every radio station?
I can already hear it out of every second or third car passing by.
ps. It had already started with this banger ๐๐ Creeds - Push Up (Official Video)
"With all the new age stuff coming on the surface, I kind of feel lost. What was once clear to me as a day now it is a bit foggy."
What with all the dancers who fell in love with the scene before this new era?
It is clear, party organizers will organize the type of events which are profitable.
Trend ๐ Money
Since the scene is now more mainstream than ever, that gave the opportunity to this new era, a new generation to shape it according to their desires.
If you are not a newbie, if you are not the one who follows the masses, the one who easily blends into new trends - you might feel a bit out of the place.
โOver the night, you are an outcast.
Dramatic vibes with this post. ๐
Seriously now, what I'm thinking is who's gonna keep the underground alive?
Only a few years ago (the time before lockdown, when the scene still relied on going to the actual party/event, not looking it on the screen), the natural process was for newbies to learn from the older generations.
Now it is more the other way around. The old folks learn how to make quick tiktok videos just to still maintain their career.
I'm always for going forward, but do we really want to throw away something that was so magical?
