One thing that connects many of us all around the world but yet we celebrate it and dance to it in so many different ways. Detroit based techno underground culture has been known to open-minded people since the late 70s and early 80s.
Then, it spreads
…….firstly, to Great Britain and Europe, and eventually, in every corner of our planet. Even when sounds and beats are mostly the same, it depends from country to country or even area to area on how ravers celebrate it.
I would say it reflects itself from the economic state of country, culture of the country even before she was introduced to techno. We also need to have in mind for how many years this kind of music is current in a country, how many of its citizens are visiting these kinds of events and in what quantity are those parties/events.
Different experience in two European countries
I was privileged to experience a techno scene in Slovenia, Italy, Croatia and Germany. On this occasion I'm gonna share my experience from Croatia and Germany and along the way say some noticeable differences in the way of partying in these two countries. Although our history says it all began in Berlin, the capital of Germany, the rest of Europe totally suffocated herself in techno.
The first big difference is the way of dancing.
Germans > 1. moving their bodies in the shape of a letter “S”
2. shuffle dance
3. people who dance to techno music gabber style (I know...wtf???)
4. and then there are always a few people with their own personal styles
But it all depends on the area and the city.
Croats > 1. use, in my opinion, a lot more energy
2. need a lot more space around them to rave and do it in a bit of an angry sort of way
3. some people even look like they are riding a horse
4. people with their own personal styles-here too
Some other things: yelling! There are usually a few common words in Germany, like: ja wohl, abfahrt, ja mann... Otherwise, in Croatia, you can hear all sorts of things being sad, most of the time curses.
There is a small difference in the style of dressing and a big one in the use of party treats. For that one, you are just gonna have to go to these places and experience it for yourself.
